Take Tiger, Please take Tiger....AWAY

"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." That includes you, me and Tiger Woods.

So, this article is not about moral failings but about Woods' iconic celebrity.

I have never liked Tiger Woods and am not in the least bit saddened by his departure from golf. In fact I would have been pleased to see him take his billions and fade into obscurity long before now, thus leaving the golf game in the hands of the competitors and out of the hands of big business and the paparazzi.

It is certainly true that his talent has stirred interest in the game but at what cost. We watch a tournament on TV where the leader is 7 strokes ahead of Woods and who do the cameras follow? You got it, ole' sulking (excuse me ...focused) Tiger himself. Will he surge? Is he hurt? Are his adoring fans, whom he ignores, distracting him? Is it possible that he is actually getting beaten?

I feel the game has suffered because of his limelight status and has lost its place in the arena of gentlemen, but then in this modern era who knows what a gentleman is anyway.

I feel sorry for his wife and children, but for him zip.

So Tiger, take your nine iron, sexual proclivity, and attitude on a long sabbatical and let the gentleman's game return.

DO CONSERVATIVES NEED A LEADER?

Leaders can be inspirational, but often they are not. Leaders can be motivators, but often they are not. Leaders can be teachers, but often they are not. If fact, there are times when leaders aren't needed. Such is the case now.

More has been done since the election of Barack Obama to motivate the conservative movement in this country than has been done in many decades, and without a leader. Leaders often tend, whether intentional or not, to enable laziness. In other words the masses wait in their stale little cubicles of life until a charismatic character comes along and stirs them to action. Then, when the immediate excitement is over they return to the mundane and wait for the next order. However, when the call goes out again fewer respond and soon the search is on for a new leader. The cycle repeats itself.

The conservative movement has transversed from a grassroots groundswell to a massive traditional values movement and is doing so without a distinctive leader. There are a few big movers out there but for the most part the movement is an army of patriots who are sick and tired of big government, higher taxes, elitism in Washington and state assemblies, and a well founded distrust for government in general. The army is shouting louder and louder the mantra that enough is enough.

The mainstream media, or as Bernie Goldberg calls them, the fringe media, are downplaying the reality of the movement, for they quake in fear that they will be dethroned and can no longer trumpet progressive liberalism with any real effect. The media have their very survival to fear if the good people win. Good people are winning and without a leader.

The masses often depend on a leader to do the thinking for them and that leader's philosophy and ideals transform the masses to think as he or she. Not so with the current conservative movement with its "Tea Parties" and "Take Back America" drive. No leader, no need for one, don't want one.

It can be noted that most tea parties don't have notable lecturers from the "speakers bureau", rather, regular folks who know the deal in the ditches and that's the way it should be. America is tired of "Hot Shots", with their fat fees, who think they know more about what's good for the folks than the folks themselves.

So, where does all this take us? If the lovers of liberty win, then America is saved. Conversely, if the liberals who hate America and liberty win America is doomed.

This is the greatest war and the most to lost since the War for Independence.

"We must all hang together," (John Hancock)"Yes" replied Benjamin Franklin, "We must all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately."

The question: Are lovers of liberty willing to risk hanging?

NO spin --- Terrorist, Period

Most of the news and opinion outlets have spun the Fort Hood massacre as not necessarily a radical Muslim terrorist attack. Well, I'm not a news outlet and I don't have to be politically correct, so, it was a terrorist attack and it was committed by an anti-American fully cognisant religious zealot. Clear enough?

When will this obsession with tender speech directed toward Islam end? For the weak hearted, never, but for the stout hearted, right now. I don't like Islam or any degree of it but I concede the right of Muslims to their belief and the free exercise thereof. Our Constitution guarantees it, but I have the right to stay as clear of it as possible. And, until I am shown solid evidence to the contrary I will believe that most Muslims are in sympathy with the Islamic terrorists. Now back to Fort Hood.

This tragedy could have been avoided if the warning signs which were everywhere, that Major Nidal Hasan was indeed a jihadist and a ticking time bomb, were heeded. But of course that would have been politically incorrect and totally unacceptable. Thus, America is one step closer to becoming a footnote in history as the country that squandered it's most valuable asset, Liberty.

Who's to blame for America's troubles? Is it the out of control government officials? Perhaps it's the liberals who are so touchy freely that their brains, if they have any, are on permanent furlough. Maybe it's those who know better but are too lazy to do anything about it. I vote for the latter. America is in a downward spiral because good people do nothing and as it has been often said, " the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing." I ask, are those who do nothing really good? I think not. Could they be if they rise up? Absolutely. But will they? Probably not.

Rejection of anonymity, however....

I have a rule to reject all comments that are anonymous or have a silly moniker, but I will slightly modify that rule on this posting.

I received a comment that declared my "amateurish attempt" to be like Rush Limbaugh in his character assassination of Barack Obama. First, I am an amateur. Next, it would be foolish to compete with Limbaugh and last it isn't character assassination it is character suicide. Obama, with his own words, discredits himself.

The writer also states: "I find Mr Getty's ramblings consistently served with a heaping side of sour grapes." No dear writer it's not sour grapes it's profound fear.

Additionally, I'm accused of beginning my statements with the qualifier "I don't know much about his...." I re-read my postings and I find that statement nowhere. However, I readily admit I don't know the inner workings of his brain, but then does anyone? This fellow is one scary character.

So, Mr./Ms/Miss/Mrs. Anonymous, listen to Obama's speeches and you will have all the "substantive documentation" you need.

I knew Lincoln--You are not Lincoln

Over the course of the presidential campaign and at times during the presidency of Obama he has referred to himself as the likeness of Lincoln. In spite of his assessment of himself as the new liberator he is no Lincoln.

Now, let it be known that Lincoln is not my favorite president but compared to Obama he was one wonderful fellow. For the record, Washington was far and away the greatest Chief Executive.
Consider:

* Lincoln's principle--"allowing people to do what they please with their own business"

* Obama's principle-- Be in every one's business because government does everything well(bailouts)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Lincoln said--"It is better only sometimes to be right than at all times to be wrong."

* Obama--Has he ever been right?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Lincoln---"Property (any type of wealth) is the fruit of labor; property is desirable, is a positive good in the world. That some should be rich shows that others may become rich, and hence is just encouragement to industry and enterprise."

* Obama--Tax the rich out of existence, for they are greedy.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Lincoln--"No man is good enough to govern another man without that other's consent."

* Obama-- Did I miss something or is "Yes We Can" about governing without our consent?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And the most famous and pithy of Lincoln's statements........"You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you can not fool all the people all the time."

Obama did not fool all the people but he fooled a sufficiently large amount and that was enough to put our Republic and Constitution in grave danger.

OK, so I didn't actually know Lincoln but I do know Obama is no Lincoln.

I'm Soooo Proud!

I'm so proud of our President I can hardly contain my emotions. The Pulitzer Peace Prize, WOW! High and exalted for what he might do.

Peace, such a sweet sounding word. Unfortunately Obama has the spelling wrong. He is probably confused with piece of the action, piece of the pie, piece of the minds of the home boys, and girls (probably all of their minds), piece of our children's minds (government schools), and a 99% piece of our health care. And, The Lord only knows of what else he might want a piece.

WHY CAN'T WE HAVE A GUY LIKE THIS?

Recently at the UN Conference in New York there were four notable speeches. One was by Libyan President Qaddafi, a babbling idiot. Another by Iranian President Ahmadinejab, an evil madman. Yet another by American President Obama, a clueless neophyte. And then there was a powerful speech by Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu, a man of courage, intelligent and resolve.

Israel, a small dot on the map of the middle east which wants nothing more than to be left in peace, is the target of mad men all over the area who wish and plan to destroy this small nation. President Netanyahu states emphatically that on his watch Israel will not be bullied or destroyed without a major fight. He does not apologize for Israel's successes in science, humanitarian activities, or literature. Instead, he praises his small county as the only republic in the middle east.

Now turn the page.

President Obama trips all over himself blaming America for every ill in the world when he should be extolling our virtues. He grovels at the feet of dictators when he should be serving notice that a butt kicking is on the way if you "tread on us." Yet he is more concerned about our image than our safety. Netanyahu, on the other hand is strong and resolute. His speech at the UN was powerful and spot on.

So, why can't we have a man like this? The simple answer: we were lazy last year. Let's not be lazy anymore, the price is much too high.

Israel has the man we have the mouse.
