I woke this morning a few hours after the government meltdown began and found that the sun was shining, the electricity worked, my dogs were still driving me crazy with their barking and God was still on his throne. Wow, how could that be. Congress said we could not survive.
I don't like or trust Washington bureaucracy or the minions that run it, however I must remember those who are elected to the positions of President, House, and Senate did not put themselves in office, we did. So, realistically we are to blame. Therefore, we must ask ourselves how did it happen? Simple. We the people have stood by, often with ourselves as enablers, allowed the dumbing down of America.
A recent poll showed when given the equivalent of the N-400 immigration test only 25% of Americans passed it . Sad, very sad. My Autistic Daughter made 90%.
We as conservatives ring our hands and complain about the dumb and dumbers in Washington but do little to replace them. It's easy to curse the rain while getting our butts soaked instead of looking for shelter. Someone once said "politicians are like dirty diapers and should be changed often and for the same reason."
So the meltdown has begun and some will be hurt I suppose, but surely far more will be hurt by Obamacare.
So, what to do? How about this. We can have our own meltdown. Let's take the political arena as a pile of scrape lead, have our own meltdown and remold Washington starting with our own Hagan next year and Burr two years later and remold the entire political circus so it looks like the Constitution and disallow any power seeking thug to do it his or her way.

Born three years before the start of WWII I have had the displeasure of seeing the not so gradual decay of the population of this country as it relates to resourcefulness, useful intelligence, PRIORITIES, and just about every other metric associated with society as a whole.
Mindless little twits are becoming frighteningly more acceptable as evidenced by the ascension from bar maid to member of congress from the Bronx district in New York. The communists/socialists/globalists have through their persistent unwavering effort managed to seduce a large segment of our society into thinking that communism is the way of the future. Educated fools are those whose ignorance overlooks the fact that not one communist nation has ever been anything but a societal, financial, and ecological disaster.
Those communist nations that have become somewhat successful have only done so by adopting capitalist practices. Still, their citizens are under heavy repressive government control at all times. Scandinavian countries are brought up as examples of socialism that works. Socialism is becoming increasingly more unpopular with the residents of those countries as their labor is traded for oppressive taxes, much which has been squandered on dealing with immigrants from the middle east who do not assimilate and are a source of many problems for the native population.
We face the same issues here. Logically one would think that people coming here with religious beliefs so at odds with the majority in the United States would want to stay in their on countries and improve conditions there instead of coming to our shores where the cultural differences are so extreme. I can't help but think there is an agenda that is far removed from simple immigration. I for one will probably cash in my chips before the country is totally reduced to third world status. My grands and great grands could conceivably either live under a brutal theocracy or be engaged in a bloody war to restore America to what it was prior to the Wilson administration. With the exception of abolishing slavery and granting women the same voting rights as men nothing has been done that hasn't diminished the earlier traits of self reliance and real compassion for those less fortunate. Those things are not the governments function but rather that of those willingly helping those that need help.
Americans first always!
